Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine
In 2017, Mayo Clinic’s campuses in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona, became the third campus of Mayo Clinic Alix’s School of Medicine. Students will join about 5,700 Mayo Clinic employees who care for more than 100,000 patients every year. The Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in collaboration with Arizona State University has developed signature joint programs and received recognition by the American Medical Association for innovations in the medical school curriculum. For example, Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine is the first in the nation to integrate a Science of Health Care Delivery certificate program with ASU into medical degree training.

The growth of ASU’s Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation (ECONHI) reflects the desire to do more, serve more and sustain innovation. ECONHI’s mission drives them to offer the highest quality academic, research, and clinical programs so that the next generation of evidence-based health professionals will excel as clinicians, teachers, health advocates, researchers, entrepreneurs, designers and business leaders.

Mayo Clinic Pre-Medical Scholars at Mayo Clinic in Arizona provides selected ASU pre-medical students interested in pursuing a career in medicine a multiyear program, exposing undergraduate students to all aspects of the practice of medicine.

Our curriculum focuses on evidence-based practice and collaboration across the continuum of care, creating care delivery systems that are compassionate, cost-effective, and sustainable. Education and professional development programs range from remote onboarding and training for Mayo Clinic OAM schedulers, to a 50-hour online Health and Wellbeing Certificate program exploring topics such as mindfulness, nutrition, sleep, physical fitness, and holistic wellness. As health care quickly transforms, our training emphasizes cross-disciplinary skills and team-oriented approaches that facilitate professional growth and promote better health outcomes.
